Garth Cooper
Garth Cooper is a writer and broadcaster who has sailed his entire life. He trained as a boatbuilder, went on to be a senior agricultural journalist, a BBC broadcaster, editorial director of a publishing company, then, in a shift in career, wrote for sailing magazines before becoming editor of Anglia Afloat.
He sails a Contest 33. With Dick Holness, he is co-author of East Coast Pilot and is the new author of North Sea Passage Pilot.
He's a skipper with the East Anglian Sailing Trust, taking blind people sailing. When not writing or sailing he helps run the family farm in Norfolk. He is a member of the Yachting Journalists' Association, the RYA and the Cruising Association.
He and Dick are very much part of the Imray 'family', leading a team sailing day on the east coast which has become a highlight on the annual calendar.
