Managing Director
Lucy Wilson
Leading a dynamic team of staff, authors and partner organisations, Lucy draws on a background in publishing, strategic communications, digital strategy, and leadership to forge new partnerships and enhance digital outreach, ensuring Imray's authoritative voice in the sailing community remains strong and vibrant for years to come.
She is part of the eighth generation of the Wilson family to lead the company. Her predecessors pioneered nautical chart and pilot book publishing out of London from the mid-1700s.
Associate Director (Financial Controller)
Emma Woodfield
Emma keeps Imray in good financial health, overseeing financial management, budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, project analysis, annual accounts, external financial relationships, and statutory obligations.
She provides financial guidance and strategic planning advice to support business activities, sets up controls and procedures to ensure financial accuracy and constantly strives to improve efficiency.
Emma is certified with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. She has 30 years of qualification experience and has worked with Imray for 20 years.
Head of Commercial and Sales
Neville Porteous
Originally trained as a ship broker, Neville has extensive experience in commercial management, business development and broking in the shipping, marine and offshore oil and gas industries.
Part of the leadership team at Imray, he oversees the company’s relationships with distributors and stockists in more than 43 countries worldwide as well as direct-to-customer sales via e-commerce and other channels.
He has a wide network of contacts, has worked in sales and commercial development globally and earned his degree from King’s College, London.
Book Production and Design Manager
Emilie Crabb
Emilie oversees the design and production of Imray’s range of 100+ pilot books.
With a first-class degree in Publishing and prior experience working in the design and publishing of Time Out travel guides (including New York, London, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Berlin), at Imray she coordinates complex publishing projects, including print buying, production layout and image sourcing.
At Imray, she has worked on pilot guides covering territories from the South Pacific to Scotland. She also manages projects from manuscript through to print.
Books Project Manager
Anna Wilson
Also part of the eighth generation of the Wilson family to be involved with the company, Anna has five years of experience in the Imray book department.
She is responsible for the design and production of Imray’s 100+ book titles, working closely with authors, editors, cartographers, printers and indexers as well as image-sourcing and proofreading.
Anna has a degree in Italian from University College London.

Guy Eaton
Guy has over 20 years of experience in print and digital communications.
At Imray he focuses on the development of the commercial aspect of all things digital, including a sustainable and affordable supply chain, to deliver digital content and services to customers in a compelling, revenue-generating package, direct to consumers or through B2B partnerships.
His specialities are digital product development, print publishing, brand development, response marketing, media integration and integrated marketing solutions.
Commissioning Editor
William Thomson FRGS
William commissions pilotage content and creates content for blogs and social media. He edits the company’s pilot books, working with authors and content partners including the Royal Cruising Club Pilotage Foundation.
He is the author of The Book of Tides, a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and the founder of Tide School, where he shares vital knowledge keeping people safe at sea.
An established sailor, he keeps his catamaran Luna in the Mediterranean.
Editorial Production Assistant
Victor Fajardo Calvache
Victor joined Imray in summer 2023 with previous experience in education and creative writing. He moved to the UK from Spain to study at the University of Glasgow, where he earned a distinction in his master’s degree in history.
At Imray, he supports the Books department with administrative and creative tasks, ensuring that production processes run smoothly.
Nautical cartographer, geospatial data technician
Kayacan Ünalp
Kayacan is a skilled nautical cartographer and hydrographic surveyor. As a former naval officer, he pursued a career spanning 20 years in the Turkish Naval Forces and Office of Navigation, Hydrography and Oceanography (Turkish Hydrographic Office), during which he took part in many projects under IHO and NATO.
Kayacan writes articles for various maritime and leisure magazines about nautical cartography, and is a member of the British Cartographic Society and The Royal Institute of Navigation.
Cartographic Editor & Project Manager
Simon Deeves
Simon has worked at Imray for more than 18 years and oversees the design of paper and digital chart products, quality controls data and ensures that the most appropriate sources are used, from satellite imagery to electronic navigational charts.
He designed the company’s Filemaker database and many of the chart production workflows. He also mentors members of the team.
Simon is an expert in Caris Hydrographic Production Database and Spatial FME in GIS, and has a Diploma in Mapping and Cartography.

George Thomas
George joined Imray via a Kickstart apprentice scheme in 2022 and is now firmly part of the staff team.
He supports the chart department to load data and ensure that production processes run smoothly, and also supports the printing of Imray charts.
Cartographer
Debbie Wilson
Debbie has worked with Imray for more than 20 years and she provides the cartography for Imray pilot books.
She works mainly in Adobe Illustrator, interpreting official and Imray charts and applying Imray book plan styling.
Digital Print Manager
Ian McDonald
Ian oversees the printing and finishing of hundreds of thousands of Imray and official charts at Imray each year using our custom PageWide printing press.
His 44-year career in the print industry, including the last six at Imray, brings a wealth of expertise to the company. He earned diplomas for NVQ Levels 3 and 4 at the Institute of Management and an Epson Digital Press management course.
Digital Product Manager
Eliza Joy Hibionada
Eliza Joy Hibionada is the Digital Product Manager at Imray, where she spearheaded the development of Content Management System and the Explore with Imray app alongside her team.
She skilfully manages a diverse portfolio of mobile apps and online platforms, drawing on a decade of project/product management experience, including significant work with federal contracts.
Driven by a passion for innovation and user engagement, she employs a range of strategies to enhance product development and user experience.
Operations Manager; Sales and Marketing
Chris Ball
Chris has worked with Imray for around 6 years, and he coordinates office and warehouse operations, manages certifications including ISO 9001:15 and Cyber Essentials, and works closely with customers to process orders. He also manages GDPR, health and safety and fire safety and training, as well as relationships with I.T. service providers.
Prior to that he had close to twenty years of management experience, (including health and safety and fire safety) at companies including McDonalds and Aldi.

Chris has more than 20 years of experience at Imray, currently in the warehouse organising the despatch and delivery of products all over the world.
Additionally, he has worked in the Sales and Charts departments. He fulfils customer orders, folds charts, and has undertaken forklift, GDPR, SAP, and First Aid training.

Katherine Black
Katherine has a degree in Geography and a Higher Diploma in Cultural Land Management.
She has close to twenty years of experience working for Defence Estates, the UKHO and the Geodatastyrelsen in projects all over the world. She is proficient in Dkart, SevenCs (Analyser) CARIS, CARIS Bathy, and Esri Maritime.
Nautical cartographer
Claire Dunn
Claire has more than 12 years of experience at Imray. In addition to cartography, she leads the processing of Notices to Mariners from the UKHO and international hydrographic offices.
She is expert in CARIS HPD, CARIS GIS, Adobe Illustrator and MAPublisher. She’s also completed an RYA Chart Navigation Course.
Her background is in Geography, with a degree from the University of Sheffield.
